GWALIOR, IN
RESIDENCE | ARCHITECTURE | INTERIOR | FACADE
Nested in the main city residential fabrics, the project projects itself as a unique façade from its neighbors but ironically expresses the Architectural style of the city.
The project showcases a mixture of tradition and contemporary style in a harmony with the surroundings. The frontal half was already obtained by a Service Staircase. The building opens up to a lush green Park and Trees also having high exposure to the South sun. So we wanted to capture the green picturesque but also have to provide proper shading to the building. The Clay jaalis in the façade extend the Heritage Architecture of the Gwalior simultaneously providing the volume a which bifurcates the front, thus capturing the Greens as well blocking the radiation.
Fluted wall panels to Scandinavian Chair, all the elements used for the Master bedroom was kept to very few but subtle pallets.
Birch plywood, Teak wood has been prioritized in most of the Furniture giving space a contextual warmth. The ceiling reflects the more contemporary feel to the space, all together are seamlessly complimenting each other.
