The Narrow house project is our First full fledged building which provide us with all the scope ranging from Architecture to Interior. The project has very tight constraints in terms of Site surroundings and its linear shape.
With three sides of the sides, already packed with neighbor built up, the only opening was in the front which too on the southern side.
These constraints was then topped with a very narrow site profile which was 5oft in length and only 20ft in width. The primary idea was to creates multiple punctures within the volume. It will not only provide better ventilation and daylight but also enhance the livelihood of the inhabitant.
We also wanted to direct the use to more green and sustainability thus the main courtyard is inspired from the traditional courtyard planning which has been practiced in hot & dry climate, for so long.
The façade is perforated with brick jaalis which too is inspired from History of the region.
The amalgamation of indigenous ;historic and contemporary can been seen all around the Building.
